Easter suddenly feels like years ago and our milk chocolate stash is finally out of sight...*hidden in belly* , So we're in desperate need of a little indulgence to fill the void... without filling us out.

In steps our very own Beanie Victoria Pope, ie. Nutrition 4 Foodies  with not only her seriously good photography skills but also some good looking choccies that are good for us. Check the facts below to share with your friends when they come round for tea & cake*.

Why these balls are golden:

Hazelnuts- Vitamin E & B 

Cocoa- Zinc & Magnesium 

Almonds- Vitamin E & Protein

Dates- Healing properties & Metabolising foods

 

 

NOTELLA PROTEIN BALLS

Gluten Free: Dairy Free: Vegan

Makes 16 Balls

 

• 1 cup toasted Hazelnuts (I get mine From Scoop Wholefoods)

• 1/3 cup cacao powder

• 1/4 cup vanilla or chocolate protein powder

• 1/3 cup dessicated coconut

• 4 medjool dates, pitted

• 2 tablespoons almond butter

• 1/4 cup almond milk

• Pinch of sea salt

 

1. Combine the hazelnuts and dates in a food processor and blitz until a fine crumb forms.

2. Add in the rest of the dry ingredients and blend again until combined.

3. Pour in wet ingredients and blend until a smooth dough forms.

4. Roll mixture into bite sized balls and store in an airtight container in the fridge.
